A small child's light blue fleece top with hood left behind on the grass near the registration tent. It has an embroidered with a pink flowers and hearts pattern on the front of it. Give me a ring (028 9068 1097) if it is yours and we can arange to get it collected at a future event.
A big thanks to everyone who turned out at the event last night (despite some football match being on the TV?). WEE 4 now concludes the May series, and we all have a chance to start off again with a clean slate for the June events in the Newcastle area. Then it's back to Belfast again in August.
Congratulations to Jonny on making some good use of a small area on the courses. His first go at planning - and I look forward to getting a chance to run on one of his courses in the future. The one point I should note though is that we thought people would only consider one of two options for route 16 to 17 on the long course: left over the footbridge at shaw's bridge, or right over the footbridge at the start line. We didn't really expect the straight line option to be considered of going straight over the weir. I guess it became tempting because of the lower than usual water levels, but something for any future controllers to consider in the future in this area !!
Until the next event...
InstructionsThe final event in the May WEE Series takes place at Clement Wilson Park. There is still everything to play for in the league results, with your best 3 out of 4 to count for overall placings. Now is your chance to get as high in the league as possible, and then try to beat that position in the June League!! Check out the current long and short league positions.
This week the courses will be approx 4.1km and 2.0km in distance. You will get an opportunity to sample some new parts of Belvoir Forest, along with the new area of Clement Wilson Park. Be warned that the nettles have been encouraged a lot due to the recent warm/damp weather. Full leg cover is recommended (but not compulsary).
Hopefully we'll see you all again in Clement Wilson Park, and give me a call on 07956 012302 if you have any questions.
Details about the park can be found on the Belfast City Council website.
DirectionsIf approaching from the M1 Motorway, exit at junction 2 towards the King's Hall. Drive down Stockman's Lane and under the railway/road bridge. Go straight at the traffic lights beside the King's Hall onto Balmoral Avenue. At the next traffic lights go straight ahead onto Newforge Lane. Please be careful on this road due to the speed ramps, but also because it is narrow and pedestrians may be walking on the road due to no footpath.
Parking and registration will be at the car park at the end of Newforge Lane on the right hand side of the road.
