Glorious sunshine for a short trot around Belvoir. The sun was there but there weren't too many jogging last night! Some excellent performances on what was a tough course. Thanks to David for planning.
There was a small glitch with control 12 (145) on the short course. A number of runners have ‘missed punched’ on their print out. This has been fixed on the final results.
Thanks to Philip and Helen for transporting the MOO (again), Wendy and Team Elwood for running the Registration and Lyle, Joe, Duncan and Fred (twice) who collected controls.
See you all again next week in Orangefield!
InstructionsAmongst the mix of woodland, a host of history lies within Belvoir Park: the oldest recorded oak tree in Northern Ireland, a 12th century Norman motte, a ruined graveyard dating back to at least the 15th century, and the remnants of the former estate buildings dating from the early 18th Century.
In addition to the above accolades it will also play host to the 11th WEE of 2012!
As usual two courses will be available – the long course approx 4km and the short course will be approx 2km (exact distances to follow). Belvoir sports a network of well defined paths, and well travelled mountain bike trails which should make for a fast run for most, however full body cover is still advised if you wish to avoid the copious amounts of nettles.
Registration will take place in Belvoir Forest car park (see below for directions and map) from 6.30 pm, with starts from 7.00 pm until 7.45 pm, both courses will close at 8.30 pm.
All are welcome, absolute beginner to renowned expert. If this is your first event, don't worry - there will be plenty of people about to help you get started, and finished if needs be :)
|Don't forget to collect your BUFF tattoos at registration, and see who can have the most interesting tattoo'd face for the photos this week .... |
