Another great night for the wee series. 76 competitors in total with 38 entering online. It certainly helps an organiser to have names in advance, so if you haven't tried it out, give it a go next week. It's not difficult.
Billy's first event as a WEE series planner made for an interesting evening with 2 great courses and he should be congratulated for the effort he put in.
Some very descriptive comments back at the moo, ranging from devious, fast and furious with the emphasis on the furious
Thank you to all the helpers who made the evening run smoothly. It was great not having to post a notice on the wee site looking for volunteers, as everyone came to me offering assistance.
That's the way it should be. Next time you turn up early for an event, instead of standing around waiting while the equipment is set up, why not ask if you could look inside and see if there is anything you can do. Even staying for half an hour after your run to bring in the controls is a great way to help YOUR club.
See you all next week at Clement Wilson park.
InstructionsThe 3rd event of the May WEE series moves to the grounds of one of Belfast’s most familiar landmarks – Belfast Castle. Overlooking the city from a prominent site 400 feet above sea level you will have an opportunity to negotiate interesting terrain on the slopes of Cave Hill.
Two courses will be available on the night as usual, long 3k and short 1.6k.
Leg cover recommended
Registration will take place in the playground car park (indicated on the map below) from 6.30 pm, with starts from 7.00 pm until 7.30 pm. The courses will close at 8.30 pm.
Parents/Guardians should note the long course uses some remote paths which may not be suitable for unaccompanied younger children.
Remember to use the new pre-entry feature if possible. Entry on the night will be charged at: Junior member/non-member £3 Senior member/non-member £5.
If you are bringing a large group it would be extremely helpful if you could email the Organiser or Planner (click on links above) with a list of names of those who will be taking part and whether they will be doing the Short or Long course. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate, but would save long queues on the night and speed things up for one finger typists
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night!
