A great turnout of competitors for the LVO hosted Belfast Hills Partnership event at Belfast Castle last night with a good mix of regulars and newcomers.
Thanks go to Lizze from Belfast Hills Partnership, Wilbert for his two excellent courses, Harold and grandson for the start, Ben for single handily running MOO operations, Janice for registration duties, Philip for results service and Davy, Alan and Daphne for newcomer mentoring.
Two of the control sticks were broken by some of the local wildlife of the two legged variety. The control boxes survived and a flag went missing but Wilbert chased them down and recovered it!
The WEE proper starts up again next week (Wed 6th August) at Bangor Castle. Registration from 18:30. Hope to see you there!
InstructionsAs part of the Belfast Hills Heritage Festival, LVO are organising orienteering as a festival event. This is an EXTRA FREE event that was not originally planned!
Two courses will be available - an expert long and a novice short. These will be very similar to the regular WEE series events. And excellent preparation for the start of the August WEE series.
Starts will be from 6:30pm near the adventure playground.
No pre-entry required, just turn up on the night.
And best of all - the event is FREE for everyone to enter !!!
