Post-Event Report

Over 50 orienteers headed to the Antrim coast to run/walk/climb the two courses at Carnfunnock on a sunny Wednesday evening. I would like to give a big thank you to all who helped, volunteered and supported in any way; it was all very much appreciated. Thanks to Susan for bringing the maps, the Baxters and the Reed family. And finally a thank you to all who attended. Hope to see you all at Belvoir next week, or maybe even Tollymore on Saturday!


The seventh of the 2011 WEE series!
Registration will be at the MOO (chip van) from 6.30pm. Starts will be from 7.00-7.45 pm. Courses close at 8.30 pm. If you think you will be a while please arrive early. Long and short courses will be available. Length of courses approx 4k and 2k. Groups more than welcome. If you want to register as a group please contact sreeve@orange.net in advance.

Carnfunnock Country Park is situated on the famous Antrim Coast Road (A2), 3.5 miles north of Larne town and Larne Harbour and just over 20 miles from Belfast.

Directions By Road:
From the direction of Larne Town Centre: Follow the signs and drive along the Coast Road (A2), through Drains Bay and the Park entrance is 0.5 miles on the left.

From the direction of Glenarm: Follow the signs for Larne and drive along the Coast Road (A2), through Ballygally and the Park entrance is 1 mile on the right.

There will be a charge of 1.50 per car using Carnfunnock Country Park Car Park.

Look out for the unique pyramid feature indicating the Park entrance.
