Post-Event Report

Another great turn out on a sunny evening at Botanic. I didnt venture out on the courses (preferring to stay within range of the McClay Library cafe) but there was plenty of positive feedback, so thanks to Geoffrey for his planning efforts. The building works around QUB made it a tricky task.

Thanks to all those who lent a hand on the night in particular to Bill, Mark and Ellen for their work in the MOO and to Wendy and Stephanie for 'manning' the start.

This weeks spot prize goes to Joanne Patterson who picked up an insulated cool bag.

See you all next week at Musgrave.

Colin S

Registration will be at the MOO trailer, from 6.30pm, starts from 7-7.45pm and courses closing at 8.30.pm

Registration and the start/finish will be situated near the McClay Library. Please refer to 'The Details' tab on this page for entry fees.

Course Lengths are 1.9 km for Short Course 3.1 km for Long Course

The race will take place both in the Botanic gardens and the University area. There is some work being done around the QUB, therefore some areas will be marked as off-bound on the map. Competitors are also advised that the map includes public streets around the perimeter of the park and university, while crossing of public roads should not be necessary, you should be aware of traffic dangers when using footpaths alongside public roads, particularly for juniors.

Please note that if you pre-enter, you can pick up your control descriptions and proceed directly to the start. If you pre-enter and are hiring a dibber, you must collect it from the MOO. For those entering on the night please register at the MOO when you arrive.

For safety reasons, everyone should give their name, dibber number and course to the marshal at the Start.

If you are bringing a group, please let us know in advance as it makes things easier on the night.

Looking forward to seeing you all there :)

The McClay Library is located on College Park East, at the back of the main Queens buildings (top of Botanic Avenue). There is a carpark at the library, but it is likely to be busy as it is exam time. There is however plenty of parking space in the adjacent streets of the University area.

Car parking is also available beside the PEC, however if you do resort to parking there please walk over to the start via Rugby Road so you do not pass through the race area.
