Thank you to all who turned out for the WEE 13 on one of the best days of the year. Numbers were excellent and a special welcome to all who took part in their first event. We hope to see you again soon.
But the event could not have taken place without the volunteers who helped before and on the night. In no particular order a big "thank you" to Alan, Helen, Philip, Wilbert, Bill, Conor, Ben, Conor and Harry. I heard favourable comments about Phil's courses so thanks to Phil for planning, setting out and collecting all the controls. With failing light I'm not sure how you managed to locate them all.
InstructionsYou are invited to the 13th WEE at Craigavon Lakes. Phil has planned the usual format of Long: 3.7 km and Short: 2.8 km. courses. This week there will also be a simple route, adjacent to the car park, where absolute novices and the very young may practise.
The Long course aims to provide an opportunity for some speed, incorporating route selection, with one or two more challenging controls.
For your own comfort full leg cover and appropriate footwear is recommended.
The name of this location gives a clue that there is a lot of water in the area, so please take care, especially if you have young children. The lakes themselves are very definitely OUT OF BOUNDS.
Please also look out for other users of the area e.g. joggers, walkers (with/without dogs,) cyclists.
If you have not pre-entered, registration will be at the MOO (large white trailer) from 6.15 p.m. with first starts from 6.30 p.m. Last starts 7.30 p.m.and courses close at 8.15 p.m.
Control descriptions will be available at Registration.
If you are a newcomer, please make yourself known and there will be someone who will be only too happy to offer some tuition and advice.
If you pre-enter you will be able to go straight to the “priority” start lane and avoid queues. You will also be entered in the weekly prize draw.
DirectionsThe MOO will be in the car park at the Craigavon Watersports Centre with the Start and Finish close by.
Toilets will be available at the Watersports Centre.
