InstructionsThe June WEE series kicks off at Barnett's Park in South Belfast.
There will be two courses available, called Long (the longer of the two) and Short (the shorter). Distances will be posted on here closer to the event. These are measured as the crow flies. Since you are hardly a crow, the distances for your route will be a bit longer, especially if you tend to wander.
Registration will be at the MOO, (chip van) from 6.30pm, starts from 6.45 ish -7.45pm and courses closing at 8.30.pm
Please note that if you pre-enter,you can pick up your control descriptions and proceed directly to the start. If you pre-enter and are hiring a dibber, you can collect it from the MOO. Otherwise, complete the registration form at the MOO and then enter on the night. For safety reasons, please give your name, dibber number and course to the marshal at the Start. If you are bringing a group, please let us know in advance as it speeds things up on the night.
Please watch out for other park users. Other orienteers are fair game for knocking over if they are the same size as you, but watch out for wee ones as we want to encourage them. Its just not nice to run into other park users either.
If this is your first event, don't worry - there will be plenty of people about to help you get started (and finished if needs be :).
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night!
UPDATE - the long course is 3.9k and the short is 2.2k as the crow flies. Please remember you are not a crow and therefore you may be running a little further. Also please note that the mountain bike trails are likely to be in use so please DO NOT run along them.
DirectionsEntry to Barnett's Park is at the top of Milltown Road, near the roundabout at the junction of the Malone and Upper Malone Roads. An O flag will be displayed at the entrance.
Take care when executing the right-hand turn into the park if approaching from the City Centre direction.
