Post-Event Report

Thank you to Geoffrey for fixing the results and ensuring that the League results are complete. Despite the rain we still had 80 starters for a complex run around the rose gardens, enjoyed by most!

The May series has got the WEE off to a cracking start. All told we have had 177 individuals running 253 long races and 99 short races. I am sure we can do even better in June.

The 4 evenings were provided by 3 planners (Dee, Olivia and Philip) and 3 organisers (Philip, Helen and Olivia). Mark P and Chloe did sterling service in the MOO and there were too many to thank individually who helped at the start and collected controls at the end of each race. We only get to orienteer if enough volunteers come forward to plan, organise and help out on the night. PLEASE do not wait to be asked, but step forward and offer to help so that everyone can get a run during the evening. Helping at a race is very rewarding - but we need to spread the load across as wide a selection of club members as we can.

The May WEE series draws to a close on Wednesday 29 May in Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Park, on the Upper Malone Road. This beautiful park offers lots of navigation challenges and the opportunity to stretch your legs running through the many rose gardens and the network of paths that criss-cross the park. Let's see if we can get over 100 starters for this last May evening.

Meet in the top car park. Registration opens at 6.30 pm with starts from 6.45 pm to 7.40 pm. Courses close at 8.15 pm sharp to leave time for control collection. As usual there will be 2 courses of about 4.0 km and 2.0 km. Long course runners will be glad of full leg cover.

Entry fee £7 adult, £5 adult member, £4 Junior non-member, £3 Junior / Student / Unwaged, free Adults going with a Junior.

The entrance (signed as Upper Entrance) is off the Upper Malone Road before you reach the Malone Golf Club if coming from the Dub Roundabout direction. Map link below.
